Context

Voting is essential in the Big Brother Brazil elimination process, where viewers pick who stays and who leaves the most-watched house in the country.

In BBB24, the voting system introduced two methods: Single Vote and Fan Vote, each making up 50% of the final result, which helps ensure a fairer and more balanced elimination process across different voter groups.

Problem

My role

Clearly communicate the equal importance of both voting methods, encourage participation in each, and update on the status of the Single Vote. All while managing complex internal requirements and a four-month deadline.

  • Create a solution to relate and display the voting data functionally;

  • Make the information easier for directors to read and interpret;

  • Collaborate with the UX team to convey the new voting dynamic to the audience clearly and understandably.

  1. Discovery

The project involved three different teams: Conta Globo (login), GSHOW (entertainment platform), and CMS Globo (voting system). Because of this, it was essential to align visions, goals, and responsibilities from the start. We brought these groups together to:

  • Understand the problem and the needs of each team.

  • Define what would be developed collaboratively.

  • Establish a steady rhythm of collaboration and daily follow-ups.

  1. Ideation

Key moments:

  • Definition of the new voting flows;

  • Creation of identification and relationship elements;

  • Critique with a review of grid and colors;

  • In-person usability testing.

During this phase, I had to manage my time carefully, balancing multiple deliverables:

  • Independent creation of interfaces and flows for editors (vote configuration and visualization);

  • Support for training and validating the solution with editors, ensuring the effectiveness and ease of use of the new system;

  • Collaboration with the UX team on the end-user experience;

  • Active participation in the tabulation and analysis of in-person usability tests due to the confidentiality of the project;
